Dr. Rajeev Prasad is a senior clinical Optometrist currently based in Delhi NCR, apart from his Specialty practices in Bihar, Jharkhand (Eastern India) & Noida (Delhi NCR) he also has visiting practices in Mumbai. Dr. Prasad is also the founder of Eye Gurukul, a dynamic online learning platform in the eye and vision care segment.

Dr. Rajeev Prasad completed his basic Optometry from Gandhi eye hospital, Aligarh followed by Bachelors and Masters. He was 2nd batch of Low Vision fellow from LV Prasad eye Institute, Hyderabad, 2002 and was awarded scholarship by Tata’s group. He has also done Bachelor’s in Homeopathy (BHMS).

Dr. Prasad was also trained in JAPAN and the US in eye screening for special population and further served for 5 years as Asia Pacific Director for Health at the Special Olympics international, USA.

He has presented as invited speaker to several national and international forums of Optometry and was the International liaison officer between Lions Clubs international and Special Olympics international USA for implementation of Special Olympics Lions clubs international Opening Eyes program globally. He also served as senior consultant at India Vision Institute, Hyderabad on Akhsauni project launched at International Association of Prevention of Blindness conference in 2012 at Hyderabad. He at present is among two members from India of College of Syntonics, USA.

Dr. Prasad is also founder Patron of Bihar’s Optometry Association. He has also served as Organizing Chairman for national conference AIOC 2018 held at Constitution club of India, New Delhi, Dr. Prasad served as Organizing Secretary of India’s first virtual International Conference IOA2020 (38th All India Optometry Conference) 4-6 December, 2020. He was also the organizing chairman of first Asia Pacific Optometric Congress 2023 held at Gurugram, India.

Dr. Prasad is the only Indian Optometrist to receive the honour of the most prestigious “OPTOMETRIST OF THE YEAR” award for the years 2018 & 2020. Currently Dr. Prasad is Secretary General of the Indian Optometry Association and President of Asia Pacific Council of Optometry. He also serves on the board of directors of the World Council of Optometry and is part of the Public Health Committee. Dr. Prasad is widely travelled across most countries of Asia and the US.

He has the accolade for establishing the Low Vision rehabilitation department at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Aligarh, Dr. Hedgewar Rugnalaya, Aurangabad and Vivekananda Medical Foundation & Research Centre, Latur, Maharashtra. He has conducted several national and international workshops on Low Vision along with specialty Optometric practices in the US and Asia Pacific. He is also a Visiting Faculty at Chandigarh University, Ludhiana, Punjab for Master’s students. He is passionate about Low Vision Rehabilitation.

Area of Interest: Low Vision Rehabilitation in cases of Traumatic Brain Injury or stroke, Adult Amblyopia, People with Diabetic Retinopathy , Hypertensive Maculopathy or Optic Atrophy or Optic Neuritis. BINOCULAR Vision Therapy, Myopia Management, Orthokeratology, Custom Made Ocular Prosthesis etc…
